  • I just saw this at school today lol

  • WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!!!!!

  • @Stevenhiggles Um? Not really

  • Read this yesterday loved it. "Here Davey, help us kill your mother." You might say I'm sick, I'll give a little to say Im a bit of a sadist, but I just found it humorous because it show how dumb people will pretty much follow stupid traditions "to their death". You can die for culture if you want, count me out.

  • When you kids get older, you'll understand this story. It's about the underlying horror and hypocrisy of human society, and the absurdity of "traditions" that no one questions. Beneath the thin veneer of civilization we are still animals. Ironically, the same year this film came out (1969), the Vietnam draft lottery began. There's a video here on Youtube about it.

  • The purpose of the short story was to depict and symbolize the presence of ridiculously unethical rituals that exist in modern societies....dumb story, horrible ending, deep meaning.

  • WHAT DA FUCK? What 's the point of the lottery? and I got a do a response to this? THIS IS BULL -___-

  • @vanilladub LOL Meh too. I had read this O_O

  • I hate this short story. It is sick.

  • @kingajinga its about mans inhumanity to man.
