You need some soil and some clippers and the intention of keeping it watered and cared for until they root!

  • How well did it work?

  • @Perroquet51 Well, I forgot about them and left them for months. The grass grew up around them and they drowned in water in the plastic bag. Not well. Attention to them would have helped. This year I'm going to just cut them and stick them in the ground where I want them to grow!

  • @NancyToday LOL! You sound like me. I'm trying to grow some starts now but in water. I read that it's best to do it like you did and just stick them in dirt.

  • @Perroquet51 I hear if you put a willow branch in water with anything, it helps it to root.

  • Semi-related, but you are so adorable and I love listening to you talk about this stuff.

  • @tehaleks Lol! Thanks.

  • Hi, Nancy,

Great video. Can you do an update on how your forsythia are doing now? Did the propagation work?

    Thanks, Swati

  • Make sure to cover the joint with soil where the new growth come in.

  • What camera do you use?

  • How are the forsythia bushes coming along? I'm curious to know that if I do the same now, will I have a bush by summer or will I have to wait until next spring? Thanks, your video helped alot.
