@ChevKen I know the one that you mean. I was under 10 when I first heard that version and it was pretty scary at the time. Really dark and evil sounding.

The "Yesshows" version of this is the one I prefer. There is a weird growling sound that you hear during this section. It almost reminds me of the demon voice from "The Exorcist"

Dear God I love these guys.
Been in my life for 40 years. Sounds as good now as it did then. This song is so full of longing.
Amazing. Beautiful. Wondrous.
Long live YES.

Pity this excellent version isn't widely available. Would Rick throw a fit? The sound isn't great but it's decent. The quieter moments really suffer.

Not a bad rendition, but it seems they started to jell again in the later renditions of 'Ritual', especially when Rick Wakeman came back on the scene once again. Since this rendition, there have been several of higher calibre throughout the '00's, especially the rendition that was accompanied by a full orchestra and the rendition that can only be seen on Netflix. I cannot remember the boys playing 'Ritual' with such vigor back in the '70's. In fact, the ensuing tour was rather muted.

@Arrluck i always felt that his song live was much better than the studio version

This absolutely STINKS. You cannot hear Alan White's drum/percussion solo at all, and you most definitely can't SEE anything, due to the flashing lights, and the dark! What rip off!
