Save the Children's spokes person in the Swat Valley has recently returned from an aid mission in the worst affected areas in the North. Roads are blocked or washed away and the only way of reaching the area is by foot or helecopter. Save the Children's response is already underway but many thousands of children and their families are in desperate need. Please support Save the Children's Appeal.

Jeez ... what a mess.
It's hard to see this situation and feel helpless ... but then I realize I'm not! I can spend a few minutes sending a little money, and the rescuers of Save the Children, Oxfam, and other Good Samaritans get to do the really hard stuff ... wade in the flood and hand out food to the beautiful Pakistanis who need a little help from their neighbors at the moment.

Why not organise 'Comic Relief' and telethons for Pakistan floods victims? Please ensure the money goes to UK/US registered charities/NGOs only, and not go to any politician. There is also an urgent need to write-off all IMF and bank loans burdens on Pakistan. Contact Mr S Parveez Syed tyneham at boxbe dot com when you need help organise/promote the telethons or similar events. Thanks.

Pakistan is being DELIBERATELY denied the help it needs.
The UN, EU and individual countries seem to have decided to use the disaster as a good excuse for a lot of people to die.
The same happened in Haiti: all these months later and still no houses built.
The ruling elite decide who lives and who dies in this world.
Our efforts as individuals are not enough to save them.

Water never changes its course. Its us always, land greedy, building in its way. I wish people could keep this thing in mind so atleast some of the damages could be avoided.
