  • Genius!

  • Rich could have made a great film about the Wino and Willie the Junkie and some of his other characters like Mudbone. Behind all that obscenity and filthiness, there was genuine pathos in the man. He was far from perfect personally but on stage could really tell a story and showcase the pain of racial prejudice. Maybe no studio would've sprung for making such a movie cuz it could have been seen as "controversial" but if were anything as gritty, raw and real as this, it would've been a classic.
