槍ヶ岳 Yarigatake Drinking on top of a mountain

I was invited by my father in-law to climb 槍ヶ岳　Yarigatake with him and his friends, apparently the 5th highest mountain in Japan. Some people choose routes that can be climbed within a day, but seeing as my father in-law and his friends were all over 60 years old a 3 day trek was planned! (what a relief!). Yarigatake is in Nagano Prefectures northern Alps and our route meant a days hike through wonderful scenery with a overnight stay in a lodge just to get within striking distance of the summit on our 2nd day.
