Pitt Football Head Coach Dave Wannstedt is a hometown Pittsburgh guy who seems to have Pitt Football heading in the right direction. And, we're excited about Pitt's future! Here's an interview we had with him talking about Pitt's first win, its team speed and more - Go Pitt!
Nice nut huggers, Dave! What are you trying to do.....smuggle grapes?

Rays, thanks for the response. Now we have a real NFL guy running the show in the BIG TUNA. I remember a game the Fins lost to the Jets (When do they beat them these days?) when Parcells was coaching. A friend said to me, "Bill Parcells is a better coach than Jimmy Johnson." I'll admit it now; he was right. Tuna has HIS guy in there as coach, and the win over the Pats is the kind of win that can catapult a team to greatness. Wannstedt was a COMMITMENT TO MEDIOCRITY!

nothing beats his uneven mustache. And DAAAA!!!! AAAHHH!!!!WE ARE FLYING AROUND!!! There was a rumor when he was drafted by the Packers in 1970 as a OL, he never made in the NFL due to a car accident and notice his right side of his face is different from his left side. He gets guys that was involved with Dallas or Miami or recruits guys the runs well and bench press 300 lbs.

Wannstedt is one of the worst football coaches I've ever seen. He ruined the Chicago Bears and the Miami Dolphins. Now, he is ruining the Pitt Panthers. Clueless moron!!

WANNSTUPID NEVER should have had the Dolphin job, especially after the job was handed to him by Jimmy "THE SNAKE" Johnson, who ruined the Fins. I was one of many who wanted Johnson to replace Shula. I apologize for that now! While Shula needed to go, Johnson was a snake in the grass who only won in Dallas because Minnesota gave up 6 picks for Herschel Walker. If Barry Switzer could win with that team, I could have. WANNSTUPID finished ruining the Dolphins after Johnson bolted! I'll never forget.

Although Syracuse isn't a great team, that was a decent win for Pitt and maybe a confidence-builder. Dave Wannstedt has been recruiting very well, and next year, at least half of the team will be players that HE recruited. His job is safe for another year, but, I think that next year might be bowl-or-bust for him. Who agrees?

Wow! Did you see the Navy game? Paul Johnson, one of the best coaches in the country, who had players half the size of Pitt's players, outcoached Dave badly. Do you agree?

Wannstedt is a bad gameday coach.

Dave Wannstedt has recruited well. However, can he turn his recruiting into winning games and going to bowls? The 2007 season could proove a lot, because this is Wannstedt's 3rd season, and his system is now completely in place. Also, this will be the 1st season where several of the regular players will be ones that he recruited.
