Kay Kyser (James Kern), (June 18,1905, Rocky Mount, North Carolina - July 23,1985, Chapel Hill, North Carolina) was a popular bandleader and radio personality of the 1930s and 1940s.
@ShockDoc . Got the book and enjoyed it a lot! Thanks for doing all the research. I'm most familiar with Kay's records from the late 30s and early 40s. What a good band he had then.
This is one cowritten by Kyser, and was one of a handful of songs KK recorded for Victor in '28 and '29, Check out my new book on Kay Kyser, called KAY KYSER-THE OL' PROFESSOR OF SWING!AMERICA'S FORGOTTEN SUPERSTAR. Google it!
Thanks, mcareyop. I appreciate the post. Glad you enjoyed it! Steve
