Thats your opinion. James is a better guitar player. He could play circles around Ron. His riffs weren't simple and he is a excellent lead player. Ron was great for what he was tho. I think Raw Power blows away Stooges and Fun House anyday of the Week.

iggy is such a fuckin' freak (i am complimenting him!). he's like 63 here... look at peers of his, like say ozzy or lou reed, they're like falling apart physically (the former) or have a grandfatherly bearing (the latter). iggy is ageless! shit i'm 38 and i notice the effects of age these days.

I say they are equally good.
I was in a band with Ron. Really.

James has incredible songwriting.abilities and a great taste in developing the guitar parts, paired with that monolithic R'n'R attitude. I consider Funhouse to be the climax of the band (I'm really into 60-70's psychedelia) but Raw Power, is the filthiest rock n roll record in history.

Well I think they're both great in their own right. Ron Asheton is the unmatched prophet of psychedelic fuzz-guitar, his tone and playing style are a trademark despite the simplicity of his riffs (Come on, TV Eye is a genius riff!) and soloing

That guitarist really hates playing or is just emotionally unattached. He was so stale.
