  • Brings back memories. I love these things, they're like time capsules. (remember creature feature, movie loft???)Sure the channel was a poor man's version of MTV.

Like he spot for Remo Williams, great movie!!!

  • Check my other vids. No Creature Feature but, have some Movie Loft...

  • MSTS1 doe's it again..V66 was the best.

  • I believe their studios were in the famous "pink building" near the Pike exit.

  • Then came the failed "The Tube" Music Network (channel 56.2), a national OTA sub-channel MTV, with M! :)

Now 56.2 is "The Country Network". I still miss "The Tube".

    I remmber V66.

  • This video station was the best than MTV at the time because they would play unreleased uncensored long version videos that cant be seen today even on youtube lol. For instance Twilight zone by golden earing had about a minute and a half extra footage with nudity in it. Plus if they had a video that mentioned the initials MTV they would not air it. Plus Raspberry Beret by Prince only showed the 45 being spun around. I have very good detail in my observations with music and videos!

  • Love it. Thanks for posting. I'm 16 again, living in Rhode Island, senior year in high school. We finally were able to get "cable tv" in my area right around this time, so this station (and "Friday Night Videos" on NBC) filled the "video" gap during those pre-cable/MTV years. Also what was cool was they really played the local stuff - Boston, J. Geils, Til Tuesday, Del Fuegos, Jon Butcher Axis, The Cars, etc.

  • V66 Ruled. Sad day when they went off the air. So much better than MTV. Loved all the VJ's.

  • time machine to the 80's.

  • Madonna's "Like A Prayer" was released in late 1988 , 2 years after V 66 went off the air and it turned into HSN

  • at the 0:56 mark, that was Morris Day singing "The Oak Tree" from his 1985 solo album "Color Of Success".
