When it comes to drugs, we've been telling teens to "just say no" for decades. New research presented at the recent Society for Neuroscience annual meeting confirms the unique and long-lasting effects of substance abuse during the teenage years. Researchers found that using marijuana at a young age led to cognitive shortfalls in adulthood -- including focus and attention. Why? Because teenage brains are only about 80 percent developed.
