Dir en grey - Lotus covered by me
This is Die's part.
A seven string was used to record Lotus.
All parts were figured out by ear, and I'm sorry but I do not tab songs.
The tuning I used was (from low to high) A D A D Gb B E
The actual tuning for this song though, is ADADGBE as stated by Kaoru

Note:
I tried a different method for recording this time, I panned all tracks accordingly. In my opinion it sounds much better, I hope you guys enjoy.
I even filled in the synthesizers!
More than likely what you hear in your right stereo is my guitar. The proper panning fills out Die's channel.

A big thanks to Demi(imEden) and Patrik(baruga/bataar) on Fukkatsu message board for providing me with the Lotus Track.

  • One thing I've just noticed with the majority of your covers.. the tone of your guitar is always almost perfect in comparison to the actual song.

How do you get your tones to match so closely?

I have two theories. Either you're rich and have bought all the same recording equipment that Die uses, or you're actually just secretly Die. >_> A few of your covers match the band score tabs to the fret, but you claim to play them all by ear.

  • @Blehmaeugh If you go to my blog, I explain my sound there. It's very meticulous work and I assure you it's no easy task.

I really do figure them out by ear! I don't even trust band scores because sometimes even they are wrong! by the way, where can I find the band scores? I don't even know.

  • @HAK107 You can buy them from ebay, amazon and similar sites like that.

I've got all the scores released so far, from Gauze to Marrow, plus the Guitar and Bass/Drum books. I transcribe the band scores into Guitar Pro and upload them to Ultimate Guitar. I used to hate spending months searching for tabs to songs I wanted to learn.. not talented enough to learn most of them by ear.

If you have GP, let me know if there are any songs you'd want to have a look at the scores for. (cont)

  • @Blehmaeugh Oh I see, I do have GP. I'd be interested in taking a look at the Marrow tabs. Could you send them in my message box? that would be cool

  • Your 7-string is so beautiful. Where did you find that beauty?

  • I could fall asleep listening to the guitar on this song. Its like listening to the rain.

  • god this song is so addicting~~

  • @Deidara4269 Lol I was off by just ONE number.

I'm trying to save up for another ltd now, I only have the 50 series:I

  • @obscurityofroyalty42 It's ltd viper 407 :D i found it !

  • @Deidara4269 Not %100 sure, but I'm guessing an ESP Viper 301 or 400. -shrugs-

  • What is the name of your guitar?

  • @Blehmaeugh I've got a third theory, he's a Guitar Mozart :D it's not that hard, actually, I do play Chopin and "Moonlight Sonata" by ear+some of DEG's piano songs, and I've never studied in any musical school.
