SHANGHAI, China--Devotees flock to the famous Jade Buddha Temple to pray for happiness, longevity and good luck. The Jade Buddha Temple honors the only female Buddha, Kwan Yin or the Goddess of Mercy, who is believed to be highly compassionate and is able to grant women fertility. Hidden inside is the rare cultural relic, the Jade Buddha, which cannot be photographed or filmed out of respect for both Buddha and its pious followers. Video taken by INQUIRER.net multimedia reporter Erika Tapalla.
Very nice, its great to get glimpses of chinese worship.

I thank the person who posted this video because it made me feel closer to the gods and to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. I have not been able to travel to China, and I live in a place where the only beautiful Chinese Buddhist temple is up in the hills and too hard to get to, since I have no car. Also, I don't yet have enough money for travel to Asia. Thank you to You Tube for helping me this way.

@burrb Yes, that's true but what's the point of spreading ones' religion when you are disrespecting the gods!

@FooWeeSan why shouldn't? Buddhism is compassion, mercy, etc etc. I believe taking videos and photos aid the spread of ones' religion.

You shouldn't take pictures or videos inside the temple it is disrespectful to the gods!

Truly beautiful devotion. I love Guan Yin. I hope one day to visit China to see temples in her honor. Namaste.
