SHORT FILM: MARS TO JUPITER.: http://www.romanticchildstudios.com/?portfolio=mars-to-jupiter

Our short film is about the integration of a Rwandan genocide survivor into North American society. We explore her struggles, her judgments and her cynicism

Mars to Jupiter was shortlisted by a Jury from the prestigious Guggenheim museum in NYC as one of 125 videos (out of 23,000 submissions) to be recognized by the organization as a remarkable accomplishment in filmmaking.

technical specs:
- Shot at 30 p before the new 24 p firmware update was released.
- Shot at Romantic Child Studios using 2 balanced florescent lights (750w each), numerous colored garden lights, practical lights and 2 750 watt tungsten lights
- All sets are redesigned using furniture and props we brought in for the sole purpose of this production.
- The party room was designed using wallpaper that we used double sided tape to put up. This helped us control our color palette.

  • Amazing work ,i cant wait till i purchase the 5d ..by the way what type of lens did you use ?

  • @hibyc Thank you! We used a Nikon lens adapter and a Nikon telephoto lens. We rented the lens and unfortunately I don't remember the specs of that particular lens, but I remember it being a fast lens as we needed it to handle well in low light.

  • This is excellent, it's breathtaking. Let me ask, what kind of lenses did you use?

  • @RomanticChildStudios which editing program did you use?

  • @William82oct : We used Adobe Premiere Pro. We're going to be shooting a feature on the 5D called "Lullaby For a Lunatic" but we'll be using Final Cut Pro to edit the feature. If you google "romantic child studios blog" we post a lot of info about our technical process on the site. You might find it helpful. Take care.
