  • Hardly 'Northern soul', bit wet, 'group soul' or harmony. Why is it banned? Did Levine record it as an original, put some hiss on it press a few sell to some poor DJ sod in Bolton for £500 claiming it was on an obscure NY label then brag he could fool all the top DJ's? He's done that before. No doubting the man's Mecca past, but will be remembered as a rich kid who could import containers of 45's from Miami while most others spent their pocket money on Stateside/Motown releases in Boots. Fact

  • @budgiebluebabypink Couldn't have put it any better than that myself mate, " poor little rich kid " who did more damage to Northern Soul than good, only in it for the money he could take out of it.

  • Mr.Levine is an arrogant fecker!!

  • People would have a lot more time for Mr.Levine if he just tried being a bit nicer. He is arrogant, and egotistical to an unbelievable degree. Why? No-one likes people like that. However, he should not be made fun of over his weight. And as a Dr.Who fan, I ackmowledge the debt we owe him for turning up 34 missing episodes.

  • ITS JUST NO GOOD FACT.

  • I truly like Ian ,aaahhh the memories he supplies, are tops.Did all the alnighter's, liked my gear had a ball but need the music .

  • @herringthorpe It amazes me that his 'Dr. Who fetish' has anything remotely to do with being a N/S DJ? On this discs 'merit' it's not doing it. Levine slates Shrine for being too expensive/rare but Dale Warren he never was. His own clones on legendary acts are abysmal or naff re-records on his CD's. He did have an awsome collection of top tunes. He is on the wrong side of history and though a figure-head for the Mecca people like Colin Curtis dropped as good a tunes? This record ain't slammin'

  • @MrMicklove Ian Levine has done more than anyone else to save Doctor Who episodes from being junked. For that many many millions of Whovians owe him a debt of gratitude.

  • Lets face it Mr Levine played and discovered some great records and in his day was probably the number one dj on the northern soul circuit. If he managed to do this by being born into a wealthy family then good luck to him. The only problem with people who spend a long time at the top is that their judgement becomes jaded and they end up believing their own propaganda.

Far from his best discovery not norther soul. Maybe another spoof? Sorry Ian but either way you really have lost the plot.

  • Hi Budgie, I used to frequent Ians shop in Blackpool and lived just around from his parents pub, the Lime Trees. Always thought he was a bit of a crook... but hey used to enjoy the Casino after a night at the Mecca...
