http://www.adventureswithjim.com How to get the most out of google and create the ultimate site map! Totally over produced, but so what? It's too hot to go metal detecting, decided to have some fun! P.S....this is also why I shouldn't drink while doing animations...dog bite beer sucks! ahahahahahaha

  • Great video Jim! Good tips for finding new sites. You can also get the USGS topo plug-in for GE. All you have to do is zoom in on an area and just turn the plug-in on and it automatically loads the usgs map in the correct position and scaling. Makes life a lot easier! The one I use is called 3dSolar but you'd have to search something like "3dSolar plug-in for google earth" in order to find it. There are others out there though that do the same thing.

  • @huntin4relics True, you can also enter the long/lat of the corners...but I wanted to show the method that works for all maps, aerial pics, plats, sanborn fire maps, hand drawn antique maps, parts of maps etc. I could've spent 2 hours on all the possibilities in GE but I think most folks just a want a simple method and then spend the rest of their time hunting :-) This is just an introduction to the vast world of mapping in GE, there is WAY more that can be done!
