This song was written by Norman Smith AKA Hurricane Smith in 1971, (Norman worked as a Recording Engineer for The Beatles from 63-65)..it got to No2 in the charts..Norman wrote it for John Lennon, when he met john again in 73 he asked john if he would have recorded it..John said "I would have loved to have done..its a brilliant song"....The Song speaks for itself...its a subject very close to my Heart.....Rest in Peace Norman...............its a bit rough around the Edges, i layed it down in an hour or so, so excuse the mistakes........................................................................­............................................................The mountainside, the flower grows

The one mistake in this video is saying polar bears are endangered. The fact is there are more polar bears now than ever in history. In fact their numbers have grown steadily year after year.

Everything else is true even though it is the natural order of the planet for species to go extinct. Species go extinct each year without any influence from man. Still a great message.
