It was the aspiration of Root Institute's founder, Lama Yeshe, that the institute 'return the historic kindness of the Indian people'. As part of this ideal the institute runs social work projects which give immediate benefit to those in less fortunate circumstances than ourselves: that is the village communities of Bihar.
The Institute is a registered non-profit charitable trust incorporated under the laws of India, and is managed together with its social work projects by volunteers .
