  • Just incredible. Simply incredible. Words are inadequate.

  • Absolute perfection. I love you Joan.Miss you lot's ..

  • Joan Sutherland was one of the greatest geniuses and vocal phenomena of the 20th century. We should genuflect and simply be grateful for all the joy she brought into the world with that amazing voice.

  • où se trouve la Grande Françoise POLLET?Elle interprète cette oeuvre d'une façon MAGISTRALE. Merci d'y penser

  • You really needed to have heard her in the 1960's at the height of her career, the voice was much better in the those days by the 80's there was a slight beat creeping in and the sound had lost much of it;s brilliance. Some of her televised performances from the 80's show a singer who was simply a pale shadow of her former self, sad but true. R.I.P. Joan, you were totally unique, a vocal phenomena.

  • This is NOT Joan in florid mode but as a spinto soprano with tone like lava - warm, smooth, flowing and glowing.

Magnificent- when Joan sang it was a GOLDEN AGE.

  • I was at her Pasadena, CA recital sometime in 1986 (at the Pasadena Conventon Center, along Colorado St., I think....). I was so fortunate to have seen and heard l her in person!!! Wow, that was a long time ago - when I was still a graduate student!!!

  • I had the magnificent pleasure of experiencing her in concert three times. Once in Salt Lake City, once in the Watergate concert hall, and then again in Minneapolis.

She, like Pavarotti, had an exquisite, ethereal quality the recording equipment of the day could not capture, but she still brings goodbumps.

  • JOAN SUTHERLAND TRULY IS THE GREATEST OF ALL SINGERS, SHE HAS A UNIQUE VOICE AND VERY DISTINCTLY HER OWN. NO ONE CAN MATCH HER VOICE. SO MAGNIFICENT!!!

  • I don't care if it's over half a year until christmas, Joan Sutherland's rendition makes my spine tingle
