  • Not a bad lesson, but that's just shuffle, isn't it? Swing is really looser than that and playing straigth triplets omitting the middle one is something that no good jazz musician would do. The second note is either shorter or longer but never really on the head of the third triplet. Besides, it can vary a lot depending on the musician, the tempo of the tune, etc. If it was that simple, the guy below would have no problem making his midi sequencer swing, right? :)

  • @lufelima yep its swinging eighth notes

  • the triplets are not swinging. trust me i have tried it. Trying to make electro swing music on the computer. I have no background in music, but i am a master of science. so i looked into this trying to analyse it. the triplets is the closest you can get to real swing but in real swing the "let" in tripelet i moved sometimes earlier and sometimes later. besides that the real 1,2,3,4, are also moved sometimes. and another thing. the accent is on 2 and 4 - and sometimes also 3. hope this helps.

  • Your teaching method is easy to understand. Thanks for taking everything to the beginning and working from that point. The only thing that can be distracting is that sometimes it is hard to see the board because you get in front of it. Thanks for being a good teacher!

  • @james34565 yea kind of. a dotted eighth note-quarter note combination has a swing feel to it

  • @JeffreyBradt haha nah just excited to teach

  • @rokinrandy haha cool

  • @marcdrumz great student!

  • @stereoscopicify always. hustle

  • @cyberflea07 technically the same result
