Leonard Bernstein heard this recording and later said it had changed his attitude to that piece of music forever. Just imagine him conducting it and thaen bursting out in hysteric laughter and the poor orchestra would not know why.

Possibly the most awesome Brian Eno recording forever.

@knately They are playing, as Eric Morecambe said, all the right notes; but not neccesarily in the right order.

@terryperring104 This started as an experiment to change musicians' attitudes towards music. The comic effect was only an entertaining by-product.

surprised it even sounded that good considering they don't know how to play there instruments.
I remember when, in the 80's, arch-stuffy KWHO Classical radio accidently slipped this into a Saturday morning lineup. To their credit, they let it finish. Afterwards there was the longest silence. The DJ was choking, offering huge apologies! Never heard it played again! Will never forget it.

Yes, i am... and Michael Nyman on the euphonium. Strange, but true. Brian Eno even produced the record.
