actually it kinda does...i had a turboed hatch with no exhaust attached not even a down pipe and it had the same kinda of spool sound like this one but since it was a honda it sounded more to a truck mumble. but it does have its similarities

sounds good with turbo, but then again miatas never sound great, they can be fast and still sound kinda like a pissed off bumblebee, very nice ride though, i really like miatas, love the sound of a turbo

Sounded nice... I have a FMII. My exhaust consist of a hi-flow CAT to 3" pipe all the way back. No muffler or resonator.
