One type of art form being considered for World of Color is paper animation. Local Glendale, California artist Megan Brain has created 3-dimentional paper sculptures of Disney characters that are turned into models or puppets with computer animation. The result is very fun and very unique when it is projected onto a giant water screen.

  • Anyone who hates World of Color has no imagination or soul.

And as you can see in this video, There was also paper-cut animation of Sebastian, but that got cut as well; in the actual show, Sebastian is traditionally animated.

I know, its a real shame. But who knows? Maybe someday they will be included when the show gets an update. :-)

  • @DisMupPix010 True but no Flower Garden,Card March,Tweddle Dee and Tweddle Dum,and the Caterpiller

...But again, they were still able to use the Cheshire cat body sequence in the final and even the shot of Alice falling made it into the final. :-)

  • @WDI2008 That's the nature of the "Blue Sky" phase. Its the earliest point of development. At the time that the World of Color exhibit opened, they were still planning to use the Alice paper animation. In the course of developing, things are bound to change. Its important to note that in the last few months before World of Color opened, they removed the Alice paper sculptures from the cellar and replaced then with the "Little Mermaid" paper sculptures. By then they knew it had been cut.

  • @DisMupPix010 Why was the Alice in Wonderland segment taken out of World of Color because the concept artwork for the segement was featured in the Blue Sky Cellar along with the paper animation models for the Alice in Wonderland segment. And it was even mention in the Blue Sky Cellar video last year that the whole Alice in Wonderland segement was going to use paper animation by Megan Brain along with original animated Alice.

  • @WDI2008

Yes she did, but it was not entirely deleted, the Cheshire Cat made it into the finale of the show. :-)

  • Didnt Megan Brain do the paper animation for the deleted Alice in Wonderland segment in World of Color ?

  • Just in case anyone hasn't heard, World of Color is going to debut June 11th! :-)
