Now i know it was Joyce Kilmer who wrote this beautiful poem. Mario Lanza's voice is so powerful that it can shake the leaves from its tree. God bless.

The unforgettable Mario. I saw him perform live in the 50's. He was so relaxed and friendly, chatting with members of the audience sitting in the front row. A wonderful memory. He died fairly soon afterwards and I was devastated.

Yes a poem by Joyce Kilmer and superbly sang by M. Lanza. He was the Greatest Tenor recording star ever. A popular movie star in hollywood's golden era. He's so popular in the Philippines. Pavarotti is also great nowadays but he has an italian accent while Mario have easy time on the Classic American Songs as well as the Operatic melodies.

Sends chills down my spine. I can't believe nobody as yet has commented on this beautiful rendition of this great spiritual poem by J oyce Kilmer set to music and sung to perfection by the great Marrio Lanza.
