The Fed kept interest rates so low, that the global pool of money wasn't going to see any kind of return, so they went looking for other places to invest, and found it, in the US housing market. @jman202011 after you buy a house you can get a double mortgage to pay off bills... but a derivitive is a long math equasion that allows banks to legally change 6% intrest into 14%, and if you cant pay it back, they take the house you already payed for... my dad got his million dollar house STOLEN by the rich, because 14% intrest on a million dollar loan is CRAZY... then my dad died of cancer and we spent our money paying what the insurance didnt... dont tell me the rich help the poor
