Nazanin-e Maryam (My Dear Maryam)

For The Memory of Princess Leila Pahlavi - ( 1971 - 2001)-RIP
Director : Bahramerad

"A Princess Who Arrived With the Spring"- An Article by : Reza Bayegan- March 27, 2008 -
As the defeated army of winter sends its scattered forces of cold spells into desperate sorties and spring asserts itself with confidence in its birthright and splendour there comes the 27th March and the birthday of our late Princess Leila Pahlavi.I know a few Iranians who faithfully remember this day and mark it with a quiet celebration. They make no fuss and show no great display of emotions but observe this event in a calm, reflective mood; a mood akin to Princess Leila's own reserved and unobtrusive temperament. They remember it as a day for focusing on the priceless virtue of human kindness and compassion. They devote this occasion to pondering the tenderness and fragility of life, and for keeping in mind what ultimately matters and is of eternal value.
Thinking of our princess we remember for instance to never forget the human element in the frenzy of a political horse race. Her gentle glance looking at us from her photographs reminds us that life is too short for acrimony and too unreliable for construction of anything grand except fond memories. In these sorry days of opportunism and banality, it is refreshing to think of our elegant and dignified princess who arrived in this world with the tender flowers of spring and withered away before the arrival of summer. May God bless the soul of our beloved Princess Leila who intensely lived and passionately loved.

Song : Nazanin-e Maryam (My Dear Maryam):

Nazanin-e Maryam is perhaps one of the most emotional and beautiful love songs in Persian. A folklore Iranian song telling the story of a lover who recites all the beautiful memories of being together with his beloved "Maryam" at the time when his beloved is far and the guy asks for all these separations to be over and he can see Maryam once again even if it was only in his dreams.

  • why is her mum alive ? no depression ??

  • @velvetnana : She has a strong character .

She is blessed with more than the ordinary people .

For her , all that has happened during her life, is meant only as steps in propelling her in the direction of attaining a higher form of existence.

    I admire her perseverance.

  • Princess Leila Pahlavi and Prince Shahpour Alireza were way too educated and they couldn't tolerate to see how low their homeland and countrymen have come to, I suppose if they acted like other idiot so called arab royalties of the Persian Gulf countries which there seems to be no shortage of them in the world, drove Ferrari , and waste their time in night clubs and shopping malls then they would've been considered " NORMAL " Shame on u. God bless them both Javid Shah . Lion & Sun Forever
