Film clip describes how the impacts of global warming could cause our peat bogs to destabilize, releasing huge amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere. Based on research published in "Nature". Includes interview with Prof C Freeman while a Royal Society Research Fellow at Bangor University, describing work funded by the Society, NERC and the Leverhulme Trust.

  • OMG Are we still debating on that question? Does human can trigger climate changes? Nearly 40 years of studies to get the same old dumb question? Look at dam paleoecological archive database dam it! Humanity never really adapted itself...human as alwas transformed it environment and mostly for the worst. Anthropogenic foring is on the main cause of the ongoing climate change....cause yes...it as already started!

  • @Aynayda You dont think 100 nukes blowing up would cause a climate change. You are an idiot. Of course man has the power to change climate.

  • @Aynayda "arrogance" hahahaha

  • What a crock. The arrogance of people who believe man has the power to cause climate change,

  • actually ogwen, although in the past the climate has reached even warmer temperatures than today, these are correlated with changes in the cycles in the Earth's orbit around the sun (which also caused the ice ages). Currently, there is no 'natural' reason that the earth should be warming. So...it is a man made problem!

  • Or it means that we need to keep our wetlands, wet.

And that diverting tons of water for power plants and agriculture isn't going to do us much good.

The same issue of peat bogs can be said about Rainforrest areas.

  • So, even if GW is purely a natural phenomenon, CO2 from degrading peat bogs will ensure that it will continue and no matter how much we recycle, there is nothing we can do to stop it! In other words, it is natural phenomenon. Adapt humanity, or face extinction.
