These so called "scientists" who claim to study and understand the brain can only tell you or try to explain the physical theory of it all.However,the problem that they can't tackle is spiritual and out of reach for them or even for religion to really understand what goes on with psychos like that.
Science is pretty deceptive sometimes so don't trust in their crap.But then again so is religion!.

it's also likely these ppl LIE about having visions 2 make others think they have a "special" relationship with what ever gods they claim to believe in. i don't buy in 2 the theory that all of these ppl are necessarily delusional. they could just be lying 2 get ppl 2 follow them. psychopaths are intelligent. they are manipulative. they are deceptive. they know EXACTLY what they are doing. this doesn't sound like delusion 2 me. it sounds like LYING. which is some thing psychopaths are known 4.
