As an old B3 guy, may I point out from seeing this clip how flawless Jimmy's technique was. He doesn't pound the big hammond's keyboards the way some pianists do. And even during the most blinding runs his hand position is never convoluted. And of course beyond technique he was a soul man through and through. He was the first to take the B3 out of the choir loft and teach it to wail.

I just finished listening to an Irish celebration of St. Patrick's Day where (2) guys were playing violin as people ate. And, while it was sweet to see them entertaining the people, the music left me a little drained so I entered Jimmy Smith-St. Thomas 2 get uplifted and BAM! I'm feeling good now! RIP wonderful Jimmy Smith and Herman Riley. Can't wait 4 u all 2 return; I know UR wonderful music is the Creator's own. Halleluyah!

thank you for bringing this guitar player into my life

That's Carl Lockett on guitar. He's a GREAT guitarist who lives in the Bay Area. I actually play with him a good deal, super cool cat and burnin' player. He's played with just about every organist there is.
