  • These are Sulfer Crested Cockatoos. Cockatiels are similar to Cockatoos, but smaller. Parakeets are the smaller branch of the parrot family, including but not limited to Budgies. So no, they're not Parakeets or Cockatiels. They're Cockatoos, and they're much, much larger than Parakeets x3

  • There cockatoos, not parakeets. But they still are really, really, REALLY CUTEEEEE!

  • @mitch19636 It's true that "parakeet" usually applies to small to medium sized parrots, but it's typically only applied to members of the psittacidae group, whereas cockatoos are part of the taxonomic group cacatuidae. Normally any "broad tailed parrot" qualifies as a parakeet, which cockatoos are not.

Cockatoos do make wonderful pets however, I hear. They're supposed to be very sweet birds. I'm sorry to hear he passed away.

  • @kristyisaninjaturtle Parakeet is the common american term for Budgerigar, a lovely australian native Bird. Although, parakeet can refer to any small to medium size Parrot. Cockies or Sulfer Crested Cockatoos are a large parrot. They can make a wonderful pet. we had one in the family that lived to the grand age of 72.

He could tallk, sing and dance. When his master passed away, He was 84, Cocko was never the same. h e flew up to Heaven about 6 months later.

    Regards,

    Mitch...
