@zizzy007 You really don't understand. You can't close the Gulf to just certain countries. It has to be closed or open. Most, if not all of the oil, that comes to the US is aboard ships that are NOT American. The United States does not operate a fleet of oil tankers.

Yes, even if the oil is not intended for Americans, they need to keep the straight open to have stable oil prices for economic stability.
