Ballymun Women's Festival 2011

The inaugural Ballymun Women's Festival, organized in association with Women's Telling Stories and the Ballymun Drop in Well Family Resource Centre took place at the Poppintree Youth Centre and the Axis Centre in Ballymun November 29 & 30th 2011.

The event featured a variety of classes, workshops and discussion groups designed to bring women from Ballymun and the surrounding area together in a friendly, relaxed and educational environment.

Workshops on a diverse range of subjects from Beauty and Makeup, Art, Flower Planting, Self-Defense and Fashion were conducted by experts working in the community.

Discussion groups, diary rooms and Angel card readings were designed to help visitors to the festival engage in open conversation and storytelling about the role of women in the Ballymun area.
