o ok, simple enough, so you pretty much just play the tapes and record it to your computer just like you would a tv to a vcr. ok

You will get higher quality on mini DV's, you just have to capture it to your computer through a firewire or I think Sony calls it i"Link", takes a bit more time, but I think it's worth it. Any editing program should let you capture like that.

Just some basic color correction in Apple Color. U can do it in FCP with the 3 way color correction. Bring the saturation down a little, boost the whites, lower the darks, and add a bit of a blue green color to the whites.

hey man, i just recently bought a canon t1i camera, and im lovin that thing to death. but im eventually (within the next 3 months) buy a nu camera of higher quality and im thinking about getting this one. the only thing i am completely oblivious about is recording to mini dv tapes......once i record video, how would i go about putting it on my computer for editing purposes.
