Python is named for Montey Python, not the snake.

Also, python devs hack on Linux, not macbooks. Macbooks are for Ruby devs... which leads me to believe that... YOU ARE SECRETLY A RUBY DEV!!

I have never heard of a language named CGI, isn't that communications and application standard for applications to communicate?

Who cares if it wasn't really "Versus", it was still cool. They poured out liquor in memory of CGI....lighten up people.

I'd say this is a very tough choice. Python vs Java or Ruby vs Java is easy - Python and Ruby ahead of Java in the web development world. Java is just too damn cumbersome and verbose to be productive (though the Play! framework is excellent). Ruby (esp. with Rails) can make for some exceptionally fast prototyping and development. Django, though mature, doesn't seem as intuitive as Rails. The only way to decide is to build a simple app in Django and the same in Rails.

How far into Ruby were you before you started learning Python? How many apps had you built under Ruby?
