OMG. Until just this moment, I was the only person I'd ever met who'd ever heard of the Toons. I saw them live in concert (so to speak) at the Student Union at RPI sometime between 1981 and 83. It was love at first sound -- to the extent that I, who *never* bought records, bought their LP right after the concert. Wish I'd thought to get it autographed. Would love to get/hear their other recordings... anybody have anything they could share?

Saw these guys live in the early 80's, and I still have my autographed "Looking at Girls" album. Great stuff.

I was friends with the toons and did the graphics for their album, "looking at girls." I also joined them onstage to sing a duet to "where are you tonight."
My ex husband was the recording engineer for the group and also played with them a bit on guitar.

I played with John Milne before he joined The Toons - it was his first band. There was a guitarist, Paul Lomolino, John and me, all singers,we did an eclectic mix of originals and covers - John and I both wrote for the group. We were called Metrognome, did the whole "Steakhouse Circuit" in the mid-1970's. John was an asshole, but he was an accomplished, albeit twisted songwriter. One of his lyrics: "Hitler was just misunderstood, he really did a lot of good, he helped us chase the blues away."
