@brianshrode72 You're wrong. The joke is the acronym "GIMPS". Just look up the word "gimp" in a dictionary. If it was a period joke, the acronym had to be "PMS".

@marinellielove Yes, but's it's not a Mersenne prime, because 5 + 1 = 6, and 6 is not a power of two.

@PrinceCharrrming Since 2 bannanas has a unit of bannanas, and 2 apples has the unit of 2 apples it the reason they are not equal. 2 items however would be |2 bannanas| meaning just the magnitude and becomes dimensionless.
However just 1 is already dimensionless, so 1=1.
