They're different situations. With the little girl, George interfered with the reap. Her soul 'went bad' inside of her. Once George took her soul, the little girl died. The guy she played hooky with, she just never took his soul, so he died anyways and was trapped in his body to experience it. In this episode, Roxy didn't interfere with the actual reap, she interfered with the events leading up to the reap. Roxy reset the mans clock so that *he* missed his appointment, but *she* didnt.

You have to remember that in the pilot, George interfered with that reap. She moved the girl out of her seat. In that other episode, she just stayed away from her reap, and that's why he still died.

I love this episode and this scene.. and I wanna try some of that candy (even if it makes your breath smell like ass).......
BUT..
It breaks the rules of the show. It's clearly stated in the pilot that if you don't take the person's soul, the person can live, but it just rots inside them.
Then there was another episode where George played "hooky" from reaping, and her reap died anyway, but his soul was trapped in his body.
They can't keep switching the rules around, damn it.
