  • they use anti american rhetoric? heavens no! can america stand such abuse? and what did corporate entities ever do to the people to incite satire & verbal abuse?...shocking !

  • There are no legitimate copies of this performance for sale. PBS apparently does not ever make reproductions of the "Live at Lincoln Center" series and the Flying Karamazov Brothers do not own the rights to produce one of their own (and they have been asked). That being said, I have watched a relatively high quality bootleg DVD version of the performance. It included a letter of apology to anyone offended and a promise to purchase a legitimate copy, should one ever be made available.

  • PS - Sophie went on to star as the lead in the revival of Most Happy Fella on Broadway in the early 90s for which she garnered a Tony nomination and then to play (also at Lincoln Center) as Natalie Portman's mother in the revival of Diary of Anne Frank. You can also see here on several episodes of Law and Order (one was just on today in reruns on TNT)

  • Hi,

My sister-in-law Sophie (Schwab) Hayden is the leading lady in this production! I first saw it at the Olympic Arts Festival in Los Angeles during the 1984 Summer Olympics. As noted, there are no legal DVDs or videos of the production.

    Very funny, isn't it!?

  • Does anyone have this on DVD?!?!?!?

  • Some of us Yanks can take it. We know that our government is corrupt and that the corporations have taken over. We don't like it either, but you can't fight Madison Ave.

  • I have seen this production a number of times. There is no anti American rhetoric, there were Anti- Administration jokes, which is very different. And altogether the political one liners take about 5 minutes out of an over 2hr long play.

  • wow! this copy is so much better than mine!

  • Exactly!

  • If there is a copy availible anywhere, I would be much interested in purchasing.

  • I think the itro guy is the human personification of Kermit Thee Frog!!!
