A Christmas Carol was animated and directed by Richard Williams, and starred Alastair Sim as the voice of Ebenezer Scrooge (a role Sim had previously performed in the 1951 live-action film Scrooge). Michael Hordern likewise reprised his 1951 performance as Marley's Ghost. Michael Redgrave narrated the story. Veteran animator Chuck Jones served as executive producer.
Superlative animation, narration, atmosphere and depth of character/period portrayal. It deserved it's Oscar. I watched this in England as a child and was mesmerized. It assailed my senses on auditory, visual and emotional levels. Thank you so much for this 'comfort cookie'. It brings back nostalgic memories.

i wish the new film would've introduced the Ghost of Christmas Future the way this did rather than the 3D comical way

I haven't seen this since it was first broadcast on ABC in the seventies. Thank you very much for posting this on YouTube. I wish I could buy a copy on DVD.
