A Christmas Carol was animated and directed by Richard Williams, and starred Alastair Sim as the voice of Ebenezer Scrooge (a role Sim had previously performed in the 1951 live-action film Scrooge). Michael Hordern likewise reprised his 1951 performance as Marley's Ghost. Michael Redgrave narrated the story. Veteran animator Chuck Jones served as executive producer.

  • Superlative animation, narration, atmosphere and depth of character/period portrayal. It deserved it's Oscar. I watched this in England as a child and was mesmerized. It assailed my senses on auditory, visual and emotional levels. Thank you so much for this 'comfort cookie'. It brings back nostalgic memories.

  • i wish the new film would've introduced the Ghost of Christmas Future the way this did rather than the 3D comical way

  • I haven't seen this since it was first broadcast on ABC in the seventies. Thank you very much for posting this on YouTube. I wish I could buy a copy on DVD.
