@kmpkingshorse Please do get back to me after you compare. I would really appreciate that. If the gold lion kt88 has the midrange of the SED EL34 and firmer bass, then that would be a true value... Also am investigating the Shuguang black treasures 6CA7 z. Read the tone audio review if you can.

@rohitdev76 I will have to get back to you on this. One thing is for sure, EL34's are way sweeter than KT88's. I listen to mostly vocals, soft music, jazz, anything but punk rock or heavy metal...that stuffs for when I'm in the car or something.

@rohitdev76 I have the Gold Lion Kt77 and KT88's in a box right now. Lol, I'm only using the Winged C's. I did not have adequate time to listen the Gold Lion KT77 to make a judgment on them (also, I heard they take long during the break in process). I just bought a set of Tung sol reissue 12ax7 and Radiotechnique 12au7 to try out...when I have the time.

@kmpkingshorse that's my preference too. I have the prologue 2 also (view my video on the PL2) and am liking EL34's better than my reissue tungsol 6550s. So just to be clear you like the sound of winged c EL34's to that of the gold lion KT77/KT88? what kind of music do you listen to? how are the different from winged c EL34's to that of the gold lion KT77/KT88? I have been trying to decide between the 3 sets of tubes...

@rohitdev76 I actually have the Prologue 2, and I'm liking the EL34's better than the KT88's for my music taste. I have the Gold Lion KT77's and KT88's reissues, but have not used it much as the Winged C's are very good sounding to me.

@kmpkingshorse - yes the NOS mullard cv4004/03 was my first choice but went for  the reissue as it was cheaper. I should try the EL34 winged C. Let me know what u think about the EL34 vs winged c el34

@rohitdev76 I switched to the EL34 Winged C and it's sounding very good. Also switched the 12ax7 to the Mullards C4004/4003. I'll look into the EH that you mentioned though. =D

I have the primaluna prologue 2. The eletro-harmonix el34eh and the new mullard 12ax7s really make the amp sing! Fantastic midrange with the the tubes i mentioned. Great for the blues guitar riffs and vocals...
