I uploaded this video to show how happy the atmosphere was in contrast to a lot of the reports. This was at 11pm, but around 1-2am it did get noticeably worse.

Why can they rally around getting wasted but they can't rally around recycling their cans and bottles, or the vote, or the war? I'm actually asking this seriously.  What would it take to get this kind of turn-out around something less hedonistic and more contributive to society? Anyone, anyone?

When did this riot have anything to do with sports? People were out there demanding to be teargassed like it was a badge of honor. There was nothing honorable about this. This was a bunch of shitfaced morons that took on a group mentality and set out to be destructive. The police restrained themselves, but the crowd felt it had to provoke them.The idiots got what they deserved-just not enough of it.

And BTW, I am not a nerd. I just prefer to think with MY brain rather than someone else's.
