Stand Up Together Up to 3,000 protesters, who had organised the event online, aimed to replicate the huge demonstrations which have been taking place in New York's Wall Street.
Police cordoned off Paternoster Square, where the Stock Exchange is located, as several hundred supporters of the Occupy London Stock Exchange movement tried to
march in from adjacent St Paul's Cathedral.
A notice stating that the square is Private Property... (YES, as with the Vatican & Washington DC, The City Is A State Unto itself !! ) .. was posted, and access was to be restricted. A High Court injunction had been taken out to prevent members of the public from accessing the square.
A protestors spokesman said: "We are doing this to challenge the bankers and the financial institutions which recklessly gambled our economy.
"This occupation and 20 other occupations all around the UK have been directly inspired by what's happening all across America and especially Wall Street."

Minutes of the Bank of England's October policy meeting revealed today 19th October 2011 .. Considered pumping as much as £100 billion into the flagging UK economy to ward off recession.
The Bank eventually voted unanimously for a £75 billion extension to its quantitative easing programme as Europe's worsening sovereign debt crisis threatens to scupper the recovery with a renewed credit crunch.
Despite inflation running well above the Bank's official 2% target at 5.2%, the minutes warned underlying growth would be "close to zero" in the final quarter of 2011 .. QED. More job losses.

Greek railway workers today joined strikes against austerity measures required if the country is to avoid defaulting on its debts.
Strikes also kept island ferries in port for a second day as rotting rubbish was uncollected for a 17th day in cities. Unions have also called a 48-hour general strike before Parliament votes on further pension and salary cuts on Thursday.

Liberty Square is a space created for culture and civics, for education, and building solidarity. A place to mint revolutionary thought, where the next generation of freedom fighters, organizers and artists will be raised. On Thursday, October 20th, at ten in the morning we will be reorganizing the square. Sanitation, and Town Planning are calling for #OWS to come out, grab a broom, a mop, and work to make the Square beautiful. This is a space for individuals of every age, race, creed and religion to enjoy. On Friday From 4pm - 11am there will be a Family sleep over.

No Hate: Many people from different places have been affected by the greed of the 1% and by the false solutions of corporate greed, union busting, and the slashing and privatization of social services. The 99% is varied and broad - but we have principles of solidarity, and we are working together to make a better world - a world of inclusion, dignity, love and respect. #OWS has no space for racism, sexism, transphobia, anti-immigrant hatred, xenophobia, and hatred in general.

It's great that, "they are admitting they OWN the property"! Just like the Dallas Fed did, when Alex Jones & friends went there to protest & couldn't step on the 'private property', of the Dallas Fed Bank. It's like reverse psychiatry on them, so they admit this to the world & even the corp media must go along with it......lol.
