G1 Users! Cupcake is near.

Just a overview letting you all know that Cupcake is coming soon. Android released all the paid applications so that we'd know its in our near future. Developers are also sending out emails to reviewers letting us know that it is on the way.

There is no Cupcake update. Cupcake is the group of developers working on future features. Plus, there will be no mass update such as anything close to what people call the "Cupcake Update". It will be periodic updates with minor feature updates.

actually cupcake is the OS system for the G2 that is out for Vodafone right now. Which is a update thats suppose to be coming to the G1. Android developers have already stated this at the conference. Magic. Thanks

for people, like me, that left the sidekick for the G1. because of the free apps and stuff like that. sidekick we pay for everything and lack A LOT of features. the new sidekick comes out this june though, it'll be like the G1 except no touch screen.

yeah definitely and all of the priced apps are under google checkout. nice that it doesnt go on your phone bill but it sucks that you have to pay with your credit card.

i have the jf mod cupcake update. It comes with the soft keyboard. Has auto rotate. Multi touch. Faster interface. Better browser. Cool new widgets. Save apps to sd card. It's really awesome.

for the love of God people the cupcake update will "officially" be released in May(reported as of April 29th). Personally i could care less about an onscreen keyboard cause i dont see the point(read:my hands are too darn big to use it effectively and thats kind of the reason i like physical keyboards) though i would welcome the video recording features and the stereo bluetooth. when i get a chance to see the mod in action than I will happily drop my Moto Q9C in a blender and switch to tmobile.

actually everyone was leaving the side kick because the g1 was way better i have no problem paying for apps if the apps are better why not and the touch screen and the keyboard makes a perfect match if anyone agrees comment
