What are the weapons made of? They appear to be wood cylinders or something. It's pretty amazing that they don't break or incur any crippling damages.

@Ronnock weapons are made of rattan, which is a rigid tropical vine that looks like wood, or like bamboo if bamboo didn't have hollows inside. While it is rigid, it is significantly more flexible than, say, an oak dowel of the same size, so it is very hard to transfer enough force to an opponent to break their large bones. Fingers are another story!
