Same reason some people like blue grass or jazz or that music where people windmill their arms around while having a seizure on the dance floor listening to the grumbles of a singer.... it's personal taste that drives us to this song. Some people enjoy it, some people, like yourself do not.

I would say that this is more like their earlier stuff tbh, Death of tragedy album. the professor elemental-esque chap-hop came later.

The style is actually more a variant of industrial, it's the lyrics that make it Steampunk, though this particular song is a departure from their usual Steampunk stuff (like Victorian Vigilante, also on this album)
