most people want you to believe the civil war was over slavery...but it wasn't....it was money .....the south was making a killing in cotton and the gov. (in the north) wanted to control it....and the south said screw you. most people in the south did not own slaves...its was a minority of plantation owners......read up on real history not what is politically correct!

@tazztheterrible - You're correct about your bit but the south did own their share of slaves as much as anywhere else in the USA at the time. Most got PAID, but were still considered slaves because they were "owned" by the rich folk - WHITE OR BLACK.

How about this bit of TRUTH about HOW the African descendents got here in the first place. They were SOLD BY THEIR OWN PEOPLE, NOT captured or rounded up like cattle!! Tribe "A" made deals with the dozen or so traders for Tribe "B"s MALE WARRIORS.
