We are the student affiliates of the American Chemical Society (ACS), University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) chapter. The ACS presidential Challenge 2008 "Putting a Human Face on Chemistry" at UCLA, provided an opportunity for middle school & high school students to expand their ability to study chemistry and become interested in chemistry using creative teaching methods.Prof Ric Kaner's lecture and lab experiment, the interaction with the UCLA student affiliates of the ACS, and the UCLA campus tour provided LA area students with an insight to what chemistry is and to UCLAs student life.

  • Most unique and well-prepared, this is also a great opportunity for K-12 students to aspire to go to college. The faculty advisor seems to be able to relate well to students. Your constant enthusiasm makes a huge difference in this video and I appreciate all the effort you put into putting a human face (and your resources, money, time, etc) on chemistry. Congratulations.
