I love this song as it represents a rock and roll sensibility for a woman who had concentrated almost exclusively on ballads and rather superficial sexual works. Vanity is a woman of incredible sensitivity, in a way a little girl, but she was cast as a sex goddess without limitations, a woman without constraints. This song is no different, but what separates it is the depth and the headlong rush into the abyss of the unknown. It's like driving 200mph toward a brick wall, and not giving a damn.

Maybe it's because I'm a 90s kid and not an 80s kid, but the whole idea of a "Filthy Fifteen" is ludicrous to me. As the late, great Bill Hicks said, "When did sex become a bad thing?"

@LustingSvenska Also, the pic was from a movie that Denise starred in w/ Roy Scheider called "52Pickup", which, really disturbed since it was another movie were she was being used by no-good dogs.

@LustingSvenska However, in the past 20 or so yrs. Denise has turned her life around, and given up Vanity (which I don't really agree w/ cuz even though Vanity had her faults, so STILL was one of the BADDEST WOMEN ON EARTH in her time - nobody came close. However, Denise is much happier now that she has given her life to God, and I respect that. My problem is that I like both Denise Matthews and the image that was Vanity (even when she was drugged out). I still thought she was cool and swag.

@LustingSvenska I agree. And, not only was the drug abuse and being used by men heartbreaking but, she also had to endure horrendous physical and emotional abuse by her biological father when she was a child, (which could explain why she choose to be w/ just dirtbag bastards - men like her father) which, is why I suspected the reason that she took on her alter ego Vanity to begin w/ (to mentally escape memories of her childhood abuse). Thus, came the drugs, promiscuity, and everything else.

i really feel compassion for Vanity when she was at the height of her career...drug abuse and being used by men (RoyScheider couldnt be more distant from her in that photo than if he was outside on the balcony) and all she was seeking was the same as any of us do...love...wanting to belong to someone...i am so happy she got her life turned around and now has found the happiness she so desired with the loser men who took advantage of her
