The idea is good but i wouldn't be bothered with something that complex make a drowning trap.or something else simple

I really discourage cactuses cuz they can destroy ur items better than lava. The best thing to use is a drowning trap so it is 100% sure you will get all the drops.

@ThorCondra Dokus RPG texture pack with the HD texture pack fix. It really didn't take too long. I found enough diamonds to use diamond tools for the whole thing. Maybe 2 nights of work.

thats amazing but seems really time consuming. is it close to the monster spawner, the cage with a fire in it because i found one and idk what to do with it. i'll probably build a modified version of this, oh and where do you get the cactus, i cant find any >.<

No, there is no monster spawner around. This works because the monsters spawn in the darkness at the edges of the room and then get dragged into the trap in the center to die.
