I went to watch your JJ&Jeff review again and discovered you were alive again. I think you can handle a dual identity although a lot of people hate that Welfare Gamer. I was just about to sub when you died but didn't , however now that your alive I subbed. Yeah shooting in the direction you're facing would be best. I think the switch from X to + explosion pattern was most likely a rendering limitation on the NES as the X is larger so it would use more sprite blocks. Great review. :)

I guess the "strike" games for Megadrive must have taken some inspiration from this game (Desert Strike, Jungle Strike etc.) in the fact that you have to save hostages and evacuate them, but thanks for this review Ed, I hadn't seen this one except briefly in AVGN's PowerGlove episode. As you (probably) know NES stuff is really hard to find here in the UK compared to the US, Master System stuff is much easier to come by here. Anyways, Great Review!

Ed: There is a bootleg version of Jackal (Top Gunner) arcade that has it where the gun is aimable. I prefer that version most of all. It is great. If you want it, let me know.

Guess you've never played G.I. Joe: Real American Hero for the NES. Probably the best game for the system.
